Metro Data, Inc. has been awarded the contract by the Maryland Health Care Commission (Procurement # MHCC 08-003) to develop and support the "web-based" Maryland Freestanding Ambulatory Surgical Facility Survey.

About the Maryland Health Care Commission:

The Maryland Health Care Commission (MHCC) is an independent regulatory agency whose mission is to plan for health system needs, promote informed decision-making, increase accountability, and improve access in a rapidly changing health care environment by providing timely and accurate information on availability, cost, and quality of services to policy makers, purchasers, providers and the public. The Commission's vision for Maryland is to ensure that informed consumers hold the health care system accountable and have access to affordable and appropriate health care services through programs that serve as models for the nation.

About the Ambulatory Surgical Facility Survey:

The Maryland Health Care Commission, in consultation with the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, produces this Guide on Ambulatory Surgery Facilities with the assistance of experts in the field of ambulatory surgery. The Maryland General Assembly established the Commission to carry out several health care reforms in the State, including development of information on ambulatory surgery facilities. The Commission is a public regulatory agency.

Robert "Bert" Orlitzky, President of Metro Data, Inc. states "We're very pleased to have the opportunity to continue to work with the MHCC, and particularly to increase our level of support and expertise that will help MHCC accomplish its mission."
